Gary Lineker has been full of praise for Marcus Rashford, comparing the Mancunian to the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paul Gascoigne.

He’s enjoyed an interesting role at Old Trafford, leading the lineup up front with Zlatan Ibrahimovic sidelined with a severe knee injury, ruling him out until the start of next season,

Although he’s only managed 11 goals in 53 matches in his first full season, Rashford has been utilised out wide for a majority of the season and has earned an England call-up for when they visit Scotland, for a World Cup qualifier, and then a friendly encounter with France in Paris.

Speaking of his talent, Lineker has been left very impressed with Rashford’s development.

“We’ve got players who won’t bottle it,” he said.

“I look at Rashford, 19, he’s taking free kicks ahead of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Paul Pogba and I’m thinking that’s the kind of stuff Gazza would have done.

“It’s a bit early for us to go and win the World Cup, but look at some of the talent coming through like Harry Kane, Marcus Rashford, Dele Alli and Raheem Sterling and all of a sudden we’ve got central defenders like Michael Keane and John Stones.”

It’s hard to believe Rashford is only 19 because when you watch him in action he looks like a player far beyond his years.

There are big things to come for the Englishman and it’s scary to think about how good he can go onto become.
