Andres Iniesta, Barcelona’s favorite and captain of the team, might soon leave the Catalan club.
Iniesta has not yet extended the contract with the Catalan team, and as Mundo Deportivo reports, it will remain like that so that the brilliant offensive midfielder can continue his career away from the Catalan capital.
Specifically, according to the same source, Xavi Hernández persuaded his former teammate to go to the ranks of the Al Sadd where Xavi has been playing for years.
Iniesta came to Barcelona’s football academy, La Masia, when he was 12 and during his career, he has won 30 titles with Barcelona. Last season he spent most of his time at the hospital or on the bench because of injuries.
Xavi convinced Iniesta to visit Doha where former Barcelona midfielder lives with his family. In addition, in Qatar, they consider Iniesta would be a great ambassador of the World Championships in 2022.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Iniesta could leave Barcelona and Spain after World Cup in 2018.
