Kylian Mbappe has ‘slightly’ opened the door to a move to Liverpool after telling Spanish publication Marca he ‘doesn’t know’ if he will stay at Monaco next season.
It’s emerged that Liverpool are prepared to pay big to bring Kylian Mbappe to Anfield this summer, but it remains to be seen whether the Monaco striker will leave the French Champions this summer.
Paul Joyce last month that MARCA’s report that claims Liverpool have made two bids for Mbappe, one being around €100m, is false, but Liverpool would like to think they’ll be front runners to sign the Frenchman should he decide to move to the Premier League this summer.
Real Madrid are strong favorites to sign Mbappe should he decide to move on, but staying at Monaco for another season is not totally out of the question. Leonardo Jardim’s side beat PSG to the Ligue 1 title and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League.
When asked by Marca on whether he will remain at Monaco next season, the 18-year old replied: “I do not know if I will stay.”
It may be that Mbappe opts to stay on at Monaco for another season, but a move to the Premier League will always be tempting. Arsene Wenger is also said to have been in contact with Mbappe’s representatives.
Liverpool have been interested in Mbappe for many years and if he does decide a move to England would be suitable, then the Reds will be at the front of the queue in the chase to secure his signature.
