Isco Alarcon will sign a contract extension with Real Madrid next week. The club and the player have a verbal agreement reached months ago and they just have to sign below the dotted line in order to make it official, something that will happen next week.
Signing Isco to this extension became a priority for the club ever since the midfielder earned a spot in the starting XI once Gareth Bale got hurt last season. Isco delivered and completed performances nothing short of spectacular, proving that he deserves another contract.
Both Madrid and Isco decided to wait until the end of Madrid’s pre-season stage in the United States as their initial agreement was reached when the team was still chasing both La Liga and the Champions League.
Isco’s current deal expires in 2018, which means that he would’ve been able to sign for any other club as a free agent next winter.
