PSG are closing in on Kylian Mbappe according to the Daily Record, with a 180 million euro move on the cards.
The Ligue 1 side have blown any idea of FFP out o the window this summer, and are willing to go above and beyond in the transfer market, in their quest to land the players they want to launch an all out assault on the Ligue 1 title and the Champions League, after the bitter disappointment of last season.
Monaco have tried to keep Mbappe out of the hands of a domestic rival, but look to have failed, and when you consider Neymar and Mbappe in the same side, it certainly seems like a daunting prospect for anyone who has to face them, either in terms of domestic football or whoever their opposition happens to be in the Champions League.
No Real or Barcelona
That of course means Barcelona and Real Madrid will miss out on the player – with Real Madrid all but confirming Gareth Bale will stay at the club – in the eyes of Jose Mourinho at least, and Barcelona now upping their bid for Philippe Coutinho.
That does put Liverpool at risk of losing their best player, with a new bid thought to have been tabled this evening, and the club now working out what to do about it.
Coutinho is injured for now, and will miss at least the opening game of the season given it falls this weekend – but quite if he will put the Liverpool shirt on again remains to be seen.
For their part, Monaco are furious over the potential sale of Mbappe to PSG, and are looking at alternatives, including AC Milan player Carlos Bacca, suggesting Diego Costa could indeed be on his way to the Serie A side, who have been no slouches themselves in the transfer window this summer.
