Barcelona have been linked with a move for Tottenham star Alli following his stunning displays last season.
The England international bagged a remarkable 22 goals from 52 appearances as Spurs narrowly lost out on the Premier League title to Chelsea.
Real Madrid have also been backed to make a move for the midfielder, who is one of Tottenham’s most prized assets.
Mauricio Pochettino, however, is likely to drive a hard bargain should any interested parties make a formal approach for the 21-year-old.
Yet in a huge blow for Tottenham, Spanish outlet Diario Gol say Alli is keen to move to Barcelona.
It is said he would relish the opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi, who has helped the Catalan giants dominate world and domestic football since making his debut in 2004.
The report adds Barcelona are monitoring the player just in case their bids to sign Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho and Borussia Dortmund’s Ousmane Dembele fail.
However, they are yet to make an official bid.
Speaking back in June, Alli refused to rule out one day leaving his current employers.
“I think people get too worried about where they are going to eventually end up,” he said.
“They lose focus on the journey, and are not enjoying it.
“So, for me as a player, I’m signed at Tottenham and I am enjoying it there.
“Who knows where I am going to end up but I am enjoying the journey.”
