‘I won’t leave Bayern’

Carlo Ancelotti insists he still has the faith of Bayern Munich after criticism from two of the club’s former players.

Stefan Effenberg claimed the 2017-18 campaign could be Ancelotti’s last at Bayern if he failed to deliver the Champions League, while Dietmar Hamann has been similarly critical of the Italian’s work at the helm.

“Effenberg doesn’t live in the dressing room and I don’t care what happens outside of it,” the former Milan boss said at a Press conference.

“He and Hamann are entitled to their own opinions, but I don’t care much about it. Will I leave? I don’t believe it.

“I have the club’s faith and that’s what counts the most, not the criticism or opinions of others.”

Ancelotti was only appointed by the Germans last summer and still has two more years left on his contract, but he came under fire after four defeats without reply in preseason, three of which came against Serie A clubs.
