REAL MADRID winger Marco Asensio has called for an emergency meeting with the club amid interest from Arsenal, reports claim.

Asensio has been regularly linked with a move away from Real Madrid this summer.

The 21-year-old’s stock is high after a stunning Under-21 European Championship campaign for Spain.

Premier League trio Manchester United, Liverpool and Manchester City have all been backed to lure him away from the Bernabeu.

As have La Liga rivals Barcelona, who are reportedly weighing up whether to trigger the winger’s huge £72million release clause.

The Catalan giants are on the lookout for a marquee name to replace Neymar, who departed for a fresh challenge in Ligue 1 with Paris Saint-Germain last week.
And Spanish outlet Diario Gol claims Asensio has requested a meeting with Real Madrid to discuss a new contract.

The report says Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has offered him the chance to move to the Emirates, but the youngster has no interest in jumping ship.

However, he does believe he is due an improved contract.

It is said he is requesting an annual salary worth £5.5million a year in order for the club to ensure he stays and will convey his feelings in a meeting with manager Zinedine Zidane.

Asensio is also aware that the European elite would all love to sign him.

Arsenal are not the only club who have offered him a way out of Spain.

Juventus, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are all also in the mix to snap him up.

Asensio scored 10 goals for Real as they won La Liga and the Champions League last term.
