If the last loss of Barcelona from City was not a surprise because of the quality of Guardiola’s team, tonight Real Madrid is the biggest flop of Champions League matches. They draw against under-rated Legia Warsaw that seems to have done great job. They played as real “lions” in the pitch. From the 75 minute Real Madrid was playing with two center forward (Benzema and Morata), two wing attack (Bale and Ronaldo) and they included the offensive midfielder Asenssio but this was not enough to secure a win.
Everyone was waiting from Ronaldo to score some goals in the match, and with that to decrease the difference with Messi on the competition for the best goals scorer in Champions League group stage. At the moment Messi is on the first place with 54 goals, followed by Raul with 53 and in third place is Ronaldo with 51 goals.
However, this result is more to make a part of the history club of Legia Warsaw, and is not going to affect the position of Real Madrid in the qualification for the next stage of Champions League.
OTHER MATCHES
Another surprise was the draw between Juventus and Lyon. Bianconeri missed the chance to stamp the qualification for the next round, while Sevilla destroyed Dinamo Zagreb with 4-0 and took the leading position in the group H.
A bride side for Monaco, not only for winning the match against CSKA Moscow, but because their best strike Radamel Falcao is back with scoring goals, and tonight he scored two goals in the 3-0 win for Monaco.
Tottenahm missed the chance to prove that they are a team that can make a history in Champions League. It looks like they have better performance in Premier League. They lost as host 1-0 from Bayer Leverkusen that are very close to get a secure place for the next stage.
In other matches there are not big surprises. Fairly good night in Champions League with 18 goals scored in all eight matches.
