Brazilian goalkeeper Ederson has calmed Manchester City fans’ nerves as he has tweeted that he is “fine” after having been caught on the face by a high boot tackle from Liverpool’s midfielder Sadio Mane.
The shot-stopper was forced off the field on a stretcher during Manchester City’s impressive win against Liverpool at the Etihad stadium. Ederson collided with Mane as both players chased an airborne through ball over Manchester City’s defence with Mane raising his foot high to collect the ball but in the end ended up connecting with the goalkeeper’s cheek and received a red card for his offence.
Ederson was substituted by Pep Guardiola as he underwent medical checks amid fears that he could have suffered cheek or jaw damage. But, City fans were glad that he was later seen taking a seat in the stands which possibly suggests no serious damage to player.
