12 Million a Year for Kevin De Bruyne

Manchester City star, Kevin De Bruyne could soon be penning down a new deal, which will almost see him double his existing £6 million-a-year salary, reports the Telegraph.

The Belgium international still has four years left on his current contract, but looking at how Kevin De Bruyne’s been progressing, a new contract looks necessary to fend off potential suitors. The club officials also think his contract should reflect the quality he adds to the side.

Coach, Pep Guardiola, has never been shy of praising his prized possession. After dispatching Feyenoord comfortably in the Champions League, the coach hailed the Belgian as one of the finest players he’s ever seen. And looking at the players the Spaniard has coached, makes the statement all the more encouraging.

Kevin has acknowledged his coach’s words but also knows how to keep himself grounded. It makes me happy [to hear what Guardiola said] but the other way is it is also a way of putting pressure on me to do well,” the 26-year-old said.

“I have tried to be more consistent since I came here and have had ups and downs but last year and the start this year has been constantly very good for me.”

Manchester City beat Watford 6-0 last night, in which the Belgian delivered another spotless performance.
