OFFICIAL: Carlo Ancelotti sacked by Bayern Munich following Champions League defeat to PSG
The Munich club were on the receiving end of a 3-0 humiliation at the hands of Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Bayern looked in trouble this summer, as they lost to Arsenal, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Liverpool and Napoli in pre-season.
However, that form has leaked into the season proper, as Ancelotti has paid the price for the club’s failings, in just his second season in Germany.
Despite four wins from their first six Bundesliga games, they slipped to a 2-0 defeat to fellow title-chasers Hoffenheim and most recently drew 1-1 with Wolfsburg.
In Europe, they followed their 3-0 win over Anderlecht – who were also thumped 3-0 by Celtic this week – with the big loss at the hands of PSG.
Following the defeat, Arjen Robben all but confirmed he would NOT get behind Ancelotti.
