The football world are focused on the game of the week that will be played tomorrow in Old Trafford . The match tomorrow starts the battel for the Premier League title for this season.

Jose Mourinho’s and Pep Guardiola’s team are the centre pieces in what could be seen as true piece of sporting theatre.

The dissapointing news on this match is Sergio Aguero’s three match ban.

The best recorded match between these two teams dates from 2009 when the Red Devils have won dramaticly 4-3.

Manchester United 4-3 Manchester City – Premier League (2009)

United defeated their town rivals with the last kick of the game courtesy of a goal from none other than Michael Owen. Wayne Rooney gave the Red Devils the lead with Darren Fletcher squeezing in an unlikely double in the process.

Craig Bellamy’s double and Berry’s goal restored parity in the match. However, Sir Alex Ferguson’s men achieved what they were so well known for and secured a crucial victory right at the death.

On tomorrow match there will be ate least two key battles. The first one will be between John Stones vs Zlatan Ibrahimovic, both debutants in Manchester Derby. Stones has impressed so far under Guardiola at City, but faces his first real challenge in the form of United’s new talisman, Ibrahimovic.

The Swede might be looking to isolate his opponent and apply his physical strength to bring his team mates into play. Stones have to stay vigilant to attempt to nullify probably the most potent offensive force on the field.

The other battle will be on the middle between Kevin de Bruyne vs Paul Pogba

This battle will be a spectacle in itself, with the potential duel between Pogba and De Bruyne an interesting one. The expensive Frenchman is required to fulfil his defensive duties in his most challenging game back at United so far.

The franchman isn’t renowned for his wise positioning and defensive attributes that can allow De Bruyne, City’s main creative threat, to thrive inside the pockets of space left by Pogba’s bursts forward.

Team News

Mourinho will have to make a decision on the fitness of Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia is the firtst right back option while Bastian Schweinsteiger has been ruled out all together.

Guardiola’s side will play without the suspended Aguero with Kelechi Iheanacho expected to replace the Argentinian. German duo Ilkay Gundogan and Leroy Sane are expected to be available, but club captain Vincent Kompany is not. Claudio Bravo is expected to make his debut for City.
