NEYMAR has named his stars to watch at this year’s World Cup, and he has not included Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Brazil star, who is a doubt for the summer tournament having fractured a metatarsal, has tipped Premier League players to star in Russia.

Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne have both shone in England’s domestic league this season and are expected to do well in the World Cup.

Liverpool ace Salah has little expectations with Egypt huge outsiders for the tournament, while De Bruyne’s Belgium are always hotly-tipped.

But Neymar fancies Brazilian team-mates Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus to make a difference in Russia.

“There are lots of quality players. It’s the World Cup we’re talking about, only the best in the world,” Neymar said.

“But Coutinho and Jesus are two that can make a difference. I hope they do.

“Mohamed Salah doesn’t play for a big national team, but he can have a good World Cup. There are also other very talented players: Eden Hazard, Kevin De Bruyne, Luis Suarez.

“I hope we all can perform well and have a wonderful World Cup, but I expect them not to do so against Brazil.”

Brazil have won the World Cup five times with the last of these coming in 2002.

Four years ago, Brazil hosted the tournament but were humiliated in the semi-finals as Germany ran riot to beat them 7-1.

That was without Neymar who was injured in the quarter-finals against Colombia.

But Neymar believes there will be no repeat in Russia and is hopeful of his nation going all the way.

“I’m glad to be part of a team that, for me, is the strongest right now,” added the 26-year-old.

“We have quality players to win and we’ll try to make it happen.”
