The duo had an infamously strained relationship at Real Madrid – and Casillas could not resist a pop
Real Madrid legend Iker Casillas aimed a brutal barb at old foe Jose Mourinho after Manchester United’s defeat at Liverpool.
Mourinho could only watch on as his side were beaten 3-1 at Anfield as Xherdan Shaqiri emerged from the bench to score twice.
Mourinho and Casillas famously fell out during the self-titled Special One’s time in the Bernabeu dugout.
The Portuguese ultimately replaced Casillas in goal with Keylor Navas amid a strained relationship between the duo.
“When you spend so long in the same team, people start to get bored of you,” Casillas explained in 2015, two years after Mourinho’s departure from the Bernabeu.

Despite regaining his starting spot under Carlo Ancelotti, Casillas still held a grudge as he left Real for Porto. “This was an inheritance from the previous era,” he said.
And it appears Mourinho is still very much at the forefront of Casillas’ mind.
The 167-cap Spain international, who still plays for Porto, tweeted: “According to a Portuguese newspaper someone said that a player like me (37 years) is at the end of his career. Completely agree!

“My question is, for that newspaper: in the case of coaches, when and at what point do you see that they are no longer to lead a team or train?”
The defeat to Liverpool leaves United 11 points off the top four and a huge 19 points behind the Reds, who top the Premier League.
