Barca consider Pjanic?

Barcelona are working on a contingency plan should they fail to sign PSG’s Marco Verratti, with Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic reportedly a target.

According to El Mundo Deportivo, the Bosnian midfielder is rated highly by new Barca Coach Ernesto Valverde due to his technical ability and he believes he would ‘fit seamlessly’ at the Camp Nou.

However, the report reiterates the Blaugrana’s desire to secure number one target Verratti from the Parisians, with Tuesday’s front page of the newspaper stating they are willing to offer €70m.

Any such deal with the Italian champions could see Andre Gomes move in the opposite direction, with the paper reporting on Monday he is Juve’s ‘Plan B’ if they cannot land Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi.

Pjanic moved to Juve for €32m last summer and scored eight goals in 47 appearances to help the club lift a third straight domestic Double in 2016-17
