Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz is set to leave the club for €15m this month although his destination remains unclear, say reports in Spain.

According to Marca, Espanyol and Malaga have been in contact with Madrid for the permanent transfer of the 23-year-old while clubs in France and England are also linked.

Despite featuring sparingly for Los Blancos last summer, the Spanish-Dominican netted five times last season – a goal every 60 minutes.

Madrid believe the striker has a bright future in the game but is unlikely to gain many first-team opportunities at the Bernabeu due to the attacking options at the club’s disposal.

Previous reports in AS stated Benfica, Eintracht Frankfurt, Roma and Real Betis had all previously been in the frame for Mariano.
