Giuseppe Marotta confirmed that Dani Alves asked to leave the club and that agreement had been reached on that matter. The Brazilian could be a potential boost for Manchester City.
After an excellent season in the Juventus jersey, the experienced right-wing expressed the wish to leave after one season, even though he initially signed a two-year contract.
During a guest appearance on a Brazilian talk show, Dani said that he will leave the job to his manager and the Juventus promised to find a solution.
This was confirmed by the head of Juventus, Giuseppe Marotta, in a statement transmitted by Gazeta dello Sport.
“It is not a failure, motivation is important for a player. Dani Alves has decided that he wants to change his surroundings, so we will come to a mutual agreement and we wish him luck”, said Marotta.
In the same broadcast on Brazilian television, Alves was asked about potential transfer to Manchester City, a club led by his former coach Pep Guardiola.
“Everyone is familiar with how much I admire Guardiola as a man and as a coach,” said Dani, raising a question of is he thinking of maybe going to City.
