Olympique Lyonnais President Jean-Michel Aulas confirms Atletico Madrid have offered €65m for striker Alexandre Lacazette.

Aulas previously revealed that Lacazette reached a verbal agreement with Atleti, and the patron made it clear Los Rojiblancos were leading the race for the attacker, who has also attracted interest from Arsenal.

“Everyone knows that Atletico offered €53m, plus €12m in bonuses. That’s €65m,” he told L’Equipe.

“Arsenal’s executives are aware of that. The price for a player who scores 25 to 30 goals a year, sometimes more than 30, should be that.

“But, frankly, I haven’t thought about Arsenal at any time because I thought Alexandre would join Atletico Madrid.

“I have no interest in selling Alexandre at the moment because Atletico are interested in signing him for January 1.

“I also listen to what the player says. I saw Wenger in the match between France and England [on June 13].

“I was with Gerard Houllier [his advisor] and I understand that there’s interest on Arsenal’s part.

“It’s premature to say that he’ll definitely go. We can’t afford not to have a replacement for a player of his quality.”
