Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has described Real Madrid’s deal for defender Theo Hernandez as ‘very transparent and clean’.
Los Blancos are said to have activated the full back’s €24m release clause at their cross-city rivals, although the deal has not yet officially been announced by either club.
“The signing of Theo Hernandez was very transparent and clean,” Cerezo explained on El Transistor.
“I’m not sure when it will be made official, if Real Madrid have signed him then they will decide upon the announcement.
“”I never thought that Griezmann would leave Atletico Madrid and as for Saul, he has a long-term deal with us and wants to continue playing for Atletico.”
Theo starred on loan at Alaves last season, making 38 appearances across all competitions as the side reached the Copa Del Rey final and achieved a top half La Liga finish.
