Roma consider bid for Valencia’s key player

Roma sporting director Monchi is planning on raiding La Liga to move for Valencia full back Jose Luis Gaya (pictured right), say reports in Spain.

According to Plaza Deportiva, the 22-year-old is being considered by the Giallorossi to strengthen the left-back position and is a prime candidate alongside Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian and Ivan Strinic of Napoli.

Los Che are said to have no intention of including Gaya in their summer sales as they aim to cut costs at the club, with Diego Alves set to follow Mathew Ryan and Enzo Perez out of the club.

Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral is said to highly rate Gaya, who is currently part of the Spain Under 21 squad who will play Germany in Friday’s European Championships final.
