Marco Asensio is destined for big things for both Real Madrid and Spain.
The midfielder showed glimpses of his ability during his breakthrough season at the Santiago Bernabeu last term, collecting a La Liga winners medal along with a Champions League one too.
Unfortunately he couldn’t add a European U21 Championships medal to his collection.
Well, not a winners one anyway as he was part of the Spain squad that ended the competition as runners up to Germany.
However, his performances in Poland, which included his hat trick against Macedonia, meant the Real superstar in the making was included in the best XI of the tournament.
Asensio, almost certain to play a prominent role, not that he wasn’t involved a lot last season at important times, was also the winner of the Silver Boot for his goalscoring exploits in Poland.
