Next year Sanchez will become a free player and will be able to leave without compensation, so he is in a better negotiating position, but Arsenal will not give him €23 million a year.
Arsenal negotiated for a few months with Alexis Sanchez (28) on extending the contract. The London club offered him €14 million per season, but the Chilean striker has refused it. British media say they he is looking for €23 million per season.
At the beginning of this transition period, it seemed like Sanchez would continue his career in Bayern, but the German champion cooled off because he was looking for an annual salary of €17 million, while Arsenal’s buyout clause was €57 million.
Earlier Arsenal announced that they had signed a five-year contract with Lyon’s striker Alexandre Lacazette, and that transfer was worth €60 million.
