Morata has promised to ‘KEEP FIGHTING’

Alvaro Morata has promised to ‘keep fighting’ despite his anticipated move to Manchester United apparently falling through.

According to Marca, the 24-year-old’s representatives have briefed: “We must keep fighting, as there’s no alternative,” after news emerged United had agreed a move for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.

Real Madrid had reportedly been in extensive negotiations with the English giants but refused to budge from an asking price of €80m, which led to talks stalling and United switching attention to the Belgian.

Los Blancos had no intentions of selling their highly-rated striker until he expressed a personal desire to leave the club in order to find more playing time elsewhere.

However, they saw his youthful age, status as an established Spanish international and medal haul both in Italy and Spain as evidence they could not reduce his valuation.

Marca say Chelsea are the only club who could potentially now move for the striker – who played under Antonio Conte at Juventus – but even they may fail to reach Madrid’s price.
