“I want to retire in Madrid”

Luka Modric hopes to retire at the Santiago Bernabeu. He said he wants to wear the white shirt for many years, as Real Madrid is the club he always wanted to play for.
In an interview for Marca, Luka Modric said his dream is to retire in Real Madrid after five great years at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Croatia national team player moved to Spain from Tottenham for £ 30m in the summer of 2012, when the team was led by Jose Mourinho.

After not doing well under Jose Mourinho’s lead, Luka shone with Carlo Ancelotti, winning four trophies and becoming the main player of the team.

He is now 31, but his contract expires in 2020 and is hoping to spend the last days of football by wearing the Los Blancos shirt.

“I have not thought about it yet, but of course I would like to retire in Real Madrid, it’s a dream – but let’s see what’s going to happen,” Modric said in an interview for Marca.

“In Madrid you have to give the maximum and always be at the highest levels. If you are not, it will be problem, “he added.

“If I continue to work with the team and individually, I think I have many years ahead at this level,” said Lukita.

“I try to enjoy every day, every exercise, every match because I’m in the best club in the world. I will fight to be here as long as possible. In my heart there is only Real Madrid, ” concluded Modric.
