Manchester United target James Rodriguez wants to leave Real Madrid by Tuesday, according to AS.

He wants his future decided before the Spanish club fly out for their pre-season tour with Paris Saint-Germain, Man United and Chelsea interested in his services.

James doesn’t want to be part of the travelling party due to his lack of playing time and after the potential signing of Real Betis schemer Dani Ceballos, he is aware he’ll only get less game time in the 2017/18 season.

Ceballos starred for Spain during this summer’s UEFA U21 European Championship in Poland and is expected to sign for Real in a six-year deal, which would only increase the competition for minutes.

James is the type of player Mourinho needs, especially with Wayne Rooney leaving to join Everton, however, after a move for Alvaro Morata collapsed due to their inability to find a fee, there’s a slim chance he’ll be allowed to leave for a justifiable fee.

The Portuguese boss may be forced to look elsewhere as he hopes to recruit a new midfield talent, even if Rodriguez is the ideal player to fill the gap left in the team.
