REAL MADRID are happy to sell Manchester United transfer target Gareth Bale if they land Monaco hitman Kylian Mbappe, reports claim.

Real Madrid are currently exploring their options as they aim to make a splash in the transfer market.

Among their top targets is Monaco hitman Kylian Mbappe, who scored 26 goals for the Ligue 1 side last season.

The France international took European football by storm and, as a result, the European elite are set to scrap it out to secure his signature.

Gareth Bale, meanwhile, is far from certain to be plying his trade in La Liga next season.

The Wales international made just 26 appearances across all competitions last term as serious ankle and calf injuries derailed his campaign.

United, as well as Chelsea, have been backed to bring him back to the Premier League.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol claims Zinedine Zidane is open to offloading the forward if he manages to poach Mbappe from Monaco.

It is said the arrival of the teenager would pave the way for one of Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema to be offloaded.

And Bale is likely to be the fall guy with Zidane keen on sticking with both Benzema and Ronaldo next season.

Benzema has shown signs of waning in recent years but Zidane supposedly has a close relationship with his compatriot.

As a result, Bale is seen as dispensable and could leave the club.

The Real supporters could also play a key role in forcing the player out.

They admire his qualities as a player but feel his egotistical style of play hinders the team rather than helps it.

Bale has been a big hit in Spain since arriving from Tottenham four years ago.

The 27-year-old has won eight major trophies in the time since, scoring 67 goals from 150 games along the way.
