The European champions of the last two seasons have traditionally been known for bringing in big name foreign superstars – from Alfredo Di Stefano in the 1950s to David Beckham in the early 2000s and Cristiano Ronaldo today.

But while Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and co remain key players for Zinedine Zidane’s men, there are now enough quality Spaniards in the squad that they could feasibly do well without any help from the foreign stars.

As well as some established stars, the Blancos have recently signed Dani Ceballos while Jesus Vallejo and Marcos Llorente have returned on loan – and appear ready for first team action.
