Chelsea are closing in on the signing of defender Danilo from Real Madrid, according to reports in the British media.
The Evening Standard is reporting that the Blues are finally set to conclude a deal to land the Brazilian defender from the Spanish side.
The 26-year-old can play at both right-back and full-back and it is said in the same report that his arrival at Stamford Bridge is now “imminent”.
However, despite Chelsea being on the verge of competing a deal for the Real Madrid defender, the same article claims that the Blues will still push ahead with plans to sign both Ryan Bertrand and Benjamin Mendy.
It is also claimed that Chelsea look set to fail in their attempts to sign left-back Alex Sandro from Juventus, though.
Chelsea, who are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season, confirmed their third signing of the summer on Saturday when they announced a deal to land Tiemoue Bakayoko from Monaco.
The French midfielder’s arrival at the club followed the signings of Willy Caballero and Antonio Rudiger.
