Sky Sport: Man Utd Close To Agreeing Deal To Sign £48m Star

Managers are now pressing ahead with their plans for the summer transfer window so we’ll bring you all the latest news and gossip from around the globe. Today, Man Utd are closing-in on a deal to sign Ivan Perisi

ose Mourinho has already signed centre-back Victor Lindelof from Benfica while Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku has arrived from Everton but the United boss is still looking to further strengthen his squad.

A new attacker appears to be on the agenda and Perisic has been touted as a prime target by the media in recent weeks with the Telegraph claiming recently that the attacker is pushing for a move to Old Trafford.

United have been struggling to agree a fee with Inter Milan with Sky Sports News suggesting the Manchester giants have been reluctant to meet their £48m asking price while they also knocked back their proposal to include Anthony Martial in any deal.

However, it appears there may have been a breakthrough as the news outlet are reporting that their sources indicate a deal between the two clubs is now close to being agreed.

Sky Sports say Perisic was reluctant to fly to China with the rest of the Inter squad on their pre-season tour but he is on the plane which left Italy this afternoon so he’ll need to fly back from the Far East if and when a deal is finally sealed.

The Croatian international has just come off the back of an excellent campaign that saw him score 11 goals and provide 12 assists so he’ll certainly add some much-needed creativity to a United attack that only registered 54 league goals last season.

The 28-year-old is predominantly a left winger but he’s capable of playing anywhere across the attack and he has the hard working attitude that Mourinho demands from his players so I think he’ll be an excellent addition.

Inter have reportedly been working on a potential replacement for Perisic with Keita Balde being strongly linked with a move to the San Siro in recent days so perhaps they will give the green light to the deal once they wrap-up their signing of the Lazio forward.
