Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys time off

While the Real Madrid side are in Los Angeles on a pre-season tour, Cristiano Ronaldo is still enjoying time away from the football pitch.

The 32-year-old has extra time off after his exploits on the international stage with Portugal, who reached the semi-final of the Confederations Cup in Russia last month before losing on penalties to Chile.

Ronaldo shared a picture on his Instagram on Thursday stood in front of a Nike-branded private jet. He was also on Monday seen attending the opening of a restaurant in Ibiza owned by Rafa Nadal.

When he eventually returns to training with Madrid, which is expected to be around the end of July, he will have one less striker to compete for a place with, due to Alvaro Morata’s impending exit.

The Spain international is on the brink of sealing a £70million transfer to Premier League champions Chelsea.

And while Ronaldo was being snapped next to a jet, Morata was saying his farewells to his team-mates in Los Angeles ahead of his move to London.

The 24-year-old is expected to sign a five-year contract with the west London side worth £155,000-a-week.
‘I am very happy, God willing, tomorrow I will be at Chelsea, a club that has always wanted me,’ Morata told Marca on Wednesday.

‘I’m not disappointed about anything, I’ve won four titles here (with Real Madrid), but now I only think of putting on the Chelsea shirt.’
