Alvaro Morata claims that new team Chelsea is “the best club”.
The 24-year-old is set to join from Real Madrid for £58 million (€70m), a sum which could increase to £70m (€78m), Sky Sports confirm.
The Spanish international was talking to reporters as he was about to undergo his medical with the Blues.
“This is the best club,” Morata said.
“Antonio Conte is one of the best coaches in the world and I’m so happy to work with Antonio.”
He scored 15 goals in La Liga action last season, a sum which rises to 20 if other competitions are taken into consideration.
“[It’s] One of the best leagues in the world and I’m so happy to be here,” Morata added.
“I spoke with Azpilicueta and he told me everything is OK and he found it something easy.”
The Spaniard was close to a move to Manchester United, before the Red Devils landed Romelu Lukaku for £75m instead.
