Alexis Sanchez has reportedly been offered to Real Madrid, as the Chilean continues to scour for a move away from Arsenal.

Spanish publication OK Diario have reported that Alexis Sanchez could return to Spain this summer, as he attempts to force through a move away from Arsenal. The Chilean forward’s agent has offered him to Real Madrid – a potentially controversial move with the player previously representing Barcelona.

Sanchez has been an instrumental figure for Arsenal since making the move from Barcelona in the summer of 2014. In fact, over the last three seasons, the player has arguably been one of the most menacing attacking forces in the Premier League, playing a key role in the Gunners’ pursuits.

2016/17 turned out to be an underwhelming season for Arsenal as they failed to finish in the Top 4 for the first time under Arsene Wenger. Sanchez, though, continued to go from strength to strength over the course of the campaign, revelling in an unfamiliar role of a centre forward for the most part.

The Chile international ended the season with a remarkable record of 30 goals and 19 assists in 51 appearances across all competitions. However, as the campaign wore on, Sanchez cut an embattled figure on the pitch.

And with less than 12 months remaining on his current deal with Arsenal, the 28-year-old has been widely linked to a summer exit from the Emirates. But, Arsene Wenger has made it clear that Sanchez will not be allowed to leave, even though the player has reportedly turned down several contract offers to extend his Emirates stay.

The Chilean’s agent, however, is still pushing for his client’s move away from Arsenal, offering him to Real Madrid, with Sanchez confessing that he would like to play in the Champions League next season. While Los Blancos are yet to make a formal offer, Sanchez could just be their solution in attack.

Alvaro Morata called time on his second stint with Real Madrid this week, leaving Zinedine Zidane with Karim Benzema as his only recognised option up front. While the Spanish and European champions have been pursuing a move for Kylian Mbappe, the young Frenchman is unlikely to leave Monaco this summer, as per reports.

Thus, Sanchez can potentially become a viable target for Real Madrid, having already proven his credentials as a striker. At 28, the player is also at the peak of his powers, meaning he could provide at least 3-4 years of world class football to Zidane.

Arsene Wenger, though, is determined to keep Sanchez at the Emirates beyond the summer, adamant that he will remain with Arsenal. It now remains to be seen if Real Madrid end up making an offer for the Chilean powerhouse, or if the North London club manage to keep hold of their prized asset.
