Man Utd interested in transfer agreement for Bayern Munich’s £50m-rated Star

Manchester United could switch the attention to Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal with a deal for one of Nemanja Matic or Eric Dier looking unlikely. Jose Mourinho is eager to a central midfielder to his ranks this summer, but he has so far been unsuccessful in his quest.

A recent report from The Sun suggested that Matic had been given permission to pursue a potential move to Old Trafford, but the Red Devils are still reluctant to match his £50m valuation. On the other hand, Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier is also keen on working alongside Mourinho next term, but chairman Daniel Levy has placed a similar £50m price tag on the midfielder’s head.

As a result, the Red Devils are looking into a deal for Vidal, who is open to the prospect of a Premier League move this summer, The Star reports. The former Juventus man is also attracting interest from Inter Milan, but the chance of playing in the Champions League could lure him to Manchester.

United celebrated an EFL Cup and Europa League double during Mourinho’s first season in-charge, and the Portuguese will be looking for major honours this term with the Premier League and Champions League set to be his priority. Mourinho is said to want at least one more signing in his squad this month, but admits the club will not overpay for their targets in the transfer window.
