Roma are set to make a new offer to Leicester City for Riyad Mahrez, according to Sky in Italy.
This will be their fourth bid for the Algerian and we are told it will be made later today.
Leicester have repeatedly said they do not want to sell the former PFA Player of the Year, despite Mahrez handing in a transfer request.
The Italian club’s third bid of £32m was rejected out of hand, and even though reports in Italy believe a bid of £40m would be enough to secure his signature, Sky Sources understand that would still be well below Leicester’s valuation of the player.
We’ve been told Mahrez’s preference is to move to a club in the Premier League, as his family is settled in England.
But he will continue to fight for Leicester, if no suitable transfer materialises.
