Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has called for La Liga officials to take note from their English counterparts and exercise more leniency in decisions.

The 31-year-old was shown his 23rd career red card in Sunday’s 3-0 victory at Deportivo La Coruna and his 18th in La Liga – a joint record high.

“In Spain, officials should look at the officiating in the Premier League and let us play more,” the Real Madrid captain told Onda Cero.

“I like their system because, in Europe, referees are more lenient.”

“I do not agree with the card, but I respect the opinion of the referee of course.”
