Pogba claims another prize

It’s been a memorable week for Paul Pogba. After scooping the Man of the Match prize against Swansea City last weekend, he picked up his UEFA Europa League Player of the Season award and on Saturday he was named Manchester United’s star man in the victory over Leicester City.

It might have Marcus Rashford and Marouane Fellaini who ultimately sealed a third win in three for the Reds against the Foxes, but the man pulling the strings throughout the 90 minutes was Pogba.

He picked up his second successive Man of the Match accolade after receiving 43 per cent of the votes from fans on our official Twitter account @ManUtd, beating Rashford (37 per cent) and Eric Bailly (20 per cent) in our poll.

A solid and composed performance from the midfielder put his peers at ease as he played his part in a barrage of attacks and was unlucky with two fine efforts in the first half which whistled just wide of Kasper Schmeichel’s post.

“We had so many chances and I was a bit scared but we kept pushing and I think this season the luck has turned our way,” Pogba told BT Sport after the match. “That’s why we need depth, we always say get ready because the substitutes can make an impact on the game and they did today so we’re very happy with that.”
