Barcelona will be without Ousmane Dembele for around four months after the winger tore his hamstring.
Dembele lasted just 24 minutes of Barca’s 2-1 win at Getafe on Sunday, and the club’s official website has since confirmed that he will not be back until next year.
Furthermore, the 20-year-old will undergo surgery in Finland this week, with the Blaugrana expecting him to be out for “between three-and-a half months and four months”.
The Frenchman only joined Barca last month for a club-record fee of €135m from Borussia Dortmund and was making his first La Liga start at Coliseum Alfonso Perez.
He will almost certainly miss the remainder of the Catalans Champions League group campaign and may not play again until the New Year.
