Antonio Conte thanks Diego Costa

Chelsea’s Italian manager Antonio Conte has thanked outgoing striker Diego Costa for his services and efforts at Chelsea giving more concrete evidence of the striker’s exit from Stamford Bridge.

The Spanish international striker is all set to leave Chelsea with Atletico signing him back in January 2018 once their transfer ban is lifted. Costa had a major fallout with manager Antonio Conte which eventually lead to his departure.

Costa expected Chelsea to sell him in the summer transfer window gone by but both Chelsea and Atletico failed to chalk out a deal for the player. However, Chelsea announced on Thursday that a deal has been struck and Costa will move to the Spanish club in January.

Antonio Conte spoke about Diego Costa to Daily Star and said, “About this issue, we want to thank him for what he did with this club. We wish him all the best for the future.”

Conte added that from now onward he would not want to revisit any Diego Costa questions from the media. He said, “Now it is not important, I am not interest to continue talking about this issue. I am working with my players and am happy to work them them. This issue is not important.”
