The Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to keep Eden Hazard amid reported interest from Real Madrid.
According to The Daily Express, Chelsea are preparing a lucrative new offer for Eden Hazard in a bid to ward off the La Liga giants.
This report suggests that Eden Hazard is on the verge of agreeing to sign this new deal, which will make him the highest paid player in the Premier League.
The Belgium international currently picks up a wage of around £220,000 per week but will sign fresh terms taking his pay packet up to £300,000 per week.
This will trump Paul Pogba’s weekly wage of £290,000.
The 26-year-old’s current deal lasts until 2020 but he will sign an extension which could end any interest from Real Madrid and other potential suitors.
Hazard started this season out injured but has been slowly eased back into the first team.
The former Lille midfielder has been an integral part of Chelsea’s side since making the switch from the French Ligue 1 side in 2012.
Eden Hazard has played over 250 games for the Blues, netting 72 games and he also has eighteen goals in 78 matches for the Belgian national side.
The landlord is keen to see Hazard stay in the Premier League as he enters the prime of his career.
