Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has agreed that his team are too reliant on French superstar Antoine Griemann to create a moment of genius in every match.
Following a 2-1 loss to Chelsea at home in the Champions League, Simeone’s Atletico Madrid were left frustrated on the weekend too when Leganes managed to hold the Rojiblancos to a frustrating goalless draw.
Griezmann played for 66 minutes in the match and was substituted as Atletico struggled to breakdown a stubborn Leganes defence. Simeone’s team had 11 attempts on goal and he has accepted that his team must find a way to win without Frenchman.

Speaking to Fourfourtwo, Simeone gave his verdict on the game and said, “He [Griezmann] is a player who has given us bad habits because he is the player who always solves the offensive problems of the team.”
The manager continued speaking about the French forward and said, “When he scores goals, the team has a great chance of winning. But when he does not score, obviously it’s more difficult. I think the other attackers and the rest of the team can help him get closer to the goal.”
Speaking about the importance of contributions from everyone in the team, Simeone concluded, “I think the other attackers and the rest of the team can help him get closer to the goal. We have to divide this responsibility, which is not the sole responsibility of Griezmann.”
