Barcelona have made Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann their ‘number one transfer priority’ for next summer, according to reports in Spain.

The French international has a release clause at Los Rojiblancos of €100m – reduced from €200m after 1 July, 2018 – and according to El Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are keen to tie up a provisional deal before the World Cup begins in Russia.

The report continues that Coach Ernesto Valverde and transfer chiefs Pep Segura and Robert Fernandez all value the 26-year-old higher than any other available players next summer.

Whilst Manchester United are said to be in ‘pole position’ for the forward’s signature, the player is thought to favour remaining in La Liga.

Griezmann was rumoured to be moving to Old Trafford this summer but eventually remained with Diego Simeone’s side after the club’s transfer ban was renewed.
