Isco believes his Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo is the ‘clear’ favourite for this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
Both players are among the 30-man shortlist for this season’s award while 32-year-old Ronaldo is aiming for his fifth crown after also scooping last season’s prize.
“In my opinion, Cristiano has to win this Ballon d’Or – it is clear,” Isco told reporters after Madrid’s draw with Tottenham on Tuesday.
“Being on the podium will be hard enough because there are so many amazing players who have enjoyed a tremendous year.
“There are many great players among the 30 nominees and it is an honour that I am among them, anything more would be a dream.
“Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric can both be there as well, they have been so important for us and more widely, any player from Real Madrid can be there due to the year we have had.
“To have an amazing season is key to winning these individual prizes and the more we do as a team the more individual prizes the players will win also.”
