Barcelona want to sign two new-centre backs, according to Sport, and not just Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly.
Though this morning’s Italian papers were focussed on the Catalan side’s quest for the former Genk man, there are other names on their shopping list, including that of Palmeiras star Yerry Mina, Mouctar Diakhaby of Lyon and Dan-Axel Zagadou of Borussia Dortmund.
The Catalan side are easily bossing things in La Liga, failing to win only once this season, and that was a draw away to Atletico Madrid almost two weeks ago.
Yet the squad still looks threadbare, especially with the Cules intending to fight on multiple fronts this season.
One area in need of reinforcement would be the defence, where Javier Mascherano is ageing and Thomas Vermaelen is injury-prone and inconsistent.
Mina, a Colombian international, could be available as soon as January if the Blaugrana are able to off Vermaelen.
The Catalan side still boasts the best defence in La Liga, with only three goals conceded.
