Ciro Immobile is subject of a € 70 million bid by Chinese club Shanghai Sipg who want to sign the Italian in the winter transfer window, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.

Immobile is Serie A’s top scorer with 13 goals in 10 appearances, an incredible average that has attracted the interest of some top clubs. Chinese clubs, however, have also shown their interest in the former Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund flop and according to the report a € 70 million bid has already been submitted.

Lazio, however, have turned the offer down as they don’t want to sell their star striker. Immobile has also rejected a contract worth € 6.5 million-a-year as he does not want to leave Lazio, nor join a foreign club in a World Cup year.

The Italian is set to remain at the Olimpico for many years in the future as he has just penned a new contract until 2022.

Meantime Il Corriere dello Sport analyzes the performances of a few young players in Europe in mid-week action.

Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, Borussia Dortmund’s Alexander Isak and Barcelona’s José Arnariz are regarded as the next big things in Europe.

The Arsenal striker, 18, is described as the first Arsenal player to be born after the arrival of Wenger at the Emirates Stadium. He scored his first senior goals on Tuesday night and is regarded as a potential regular starter for the Gunners who have taken him from Chelsea’s youth sector in 2015.

As for Arnaiz, 22, Barcelona signed him from Valladolid in the summer. He has initially played with the blaugrana B squad and made his first senior goal with Barcelona in the day of his senior debut with the La Liga giants against Murcia in a Copa del Rey clash on Tuesday.

Arnaiz has become Barcelona’s second-choice main striker ahead of Paco Alcacer who Ernesto Valverde wants out in the January window. Can him and Nketiah become the next big strikers of Arsenal and Barcelona? Time will tell, meantime, they seem to have taken the right path.
