Ramos: Everybody can do more…

Sergio Ramos has called on Real Madrid to stick together and share the blame for poor performances collectively rather than individually.

Zinedine Zidane’s side’s defeat at Girona on Sunday left them floundering in the title race as they drifted eight points off league leaders Barcelona.

“Nobody is to blame here, as I’ve always said,” Ramos told El Transistor.

“Everybody can do more of course, but that is always the case but when you win, you do that as a team and it is the same situation when you lose.

“It’s the wrong time to point fingers at anyone in particular because, as I said, we can always give more as a team and as individuals.

“Had we have taken our chances against Girona in the first half it would have been a different game but maybe our intensity did drop a little at moments.

“Girona had a bit of luck with their winner but they performed magnificently and set up very well, to make us feel very comfortable at times in the match.

“We cannot feel sorry for ourselves and must learn from these mistakes, it would not be the first time in La Liga when we’ve recovered eight points.”
