Barcelona are interested in Tottenham youngster Harry Winks, according to the latest reports from the Evening Standard.

The English paper confirms that Bluagrana sporting director Robert Fernandez was present at both games which Spurs played against Real Madrid, in which they drew 1-1 with the London side at the Bernabeu and knocked the Spanish side out at Wembley Stadium.

Winks played a starring role in both games, and was even asked to play a deeper role at Wembley when Toby Alderweireld went off.

The report indicates that Fernandez had originally intended to scout Christian Eriksen, who has been linked to the La Liga leaders since the summer.

Barcelona’s loss of Neymar then for €222 million to PSG has given the Cules a big transfer kitty.

With an ageing midfield and players like Andre Gomes struggling to impress, the Blaugrana need more bodies in the middle, and Winks is seen as someone who can play all across the midfield. The Catalans need people on the right, too, to replace Dani Alves and Aleix Vidal.

And to think that Barcelona were also thinking of signing Harry Kane and Dele Alli, the latter being repeatedly linked to the Spanish side too.
