Andrea Pirlo has now retired from football as he left New York City FC. His football days are now over but will he still be part of the football world? There have been many reports out there linking him with a possible Chelsea reunion as he could be a part of Antonio Conte’s future staff. Here is what he had said a while ago in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport:

“You have to realize that the time has come. Every day you have physical problems, you cannot train as you want because you always have some issues. At my age, that’s enough. It’s not that you can go on forever until the age of 50. I’m going to do something else at 38. It’s just right to give young players room”.

He then added: ” Chelsea? I do not know yet, I’ll be back in Italy already in December, I have ideas, but give me time to decide.” Conte managed Pirlo with both Juventus and the Italian national team as a reunion might be on the cards in 2018. Pirlo has just retired but in a few months from now, who knows what the future holds for him…
