Sergio Ramos aims another dig at Jose Mourinho over Iker Casillas treatment

Spain captain Sergio Ramos could not resist yet another little dig at Jose Mourinho over his treatment of goalkeeper Iker Casillas while at Real Madrid.

Current Manchester United boss Mourinho began to phase Casillas out of the Real team during his three years at the club, with the World Cup winner eventually joining Porto.

But his position is under threat once again, with new Porto boss Sergio Conceicao dropping him for a key Champions League match against RB Leipzig and appearing to favour understudy Jose Sa.

And, when asked about the situation, Ramos could not resist taking a swipe at Mourinho, who he famously clashed with on several occasions during their time together at the Bernabeu.

Ramos told radio station El Larguero: ‘It’s a situation that catches my attention, it surprises everyone.

‘If there is something personal behind this, that I do not know, I wish him to be happy wherever he his, and you should not lose your joy; the day you lose it, you will have a problem.’

He continued: ‘We are always in touch with jokes and nobody likes to be a substitute when they’ve always been a starter.

‘I ask if the coach is Mourinho’s friend! I would not be surprised, I’ve seen this coach at a press conference and he has similar traits to Mourinho.’

Mourinho’s time at Real came to a premature end back in 2013, despite winning the title the previous season, amid reports of fall outs with the club’s most influential players: Casillas, Ramos and Cristiano Ronaldo.
