Leo Messi left the national team, will not play against Nigeria

Lionel Messi will miss Argentina’s friendly match against Nigeria next Tuesday after leaving the team to return to Barcelona.

Captain Messi played 90 minutes in Argentina’s 1-0 win against Russia, he also helped Sergio Aguero’s goal at the end of the match in Moscow.

However, the 30-year-old will not travel to Krasnodar with the rest of Jorge Sampaoli’s team.

This is confirmed by Argentina’s team on Twitter, announcing that Messi will return to Spain.

The good news is that Messi’s departure from the national team has nothing to do with injury.
